a man found an abundance of green,
first money tree he'd ever seen,
but he didn't like money,
until it stuck to him like honey
and now he's a money fiend.
a man returned home from the store
after feeling a tiny bit sore,
took a bottle of pills , he'd been sold,
so his life nor his pain is no more.
a girl with bad memory lost her name,
said she had no one to blame,
so she made a name for herself
acquired great wealth,
and now she's one heck of a dame.
the wealthy became very poor
didn't know what on earth for
it got kind of funny,
the poor had no money,
and the world had nothing to abhor.
hate came looking for love,
didn't believe in the heavens above
so love removed a thin line,
made hate kind of kind,
and showed hate what love was made of.

Very perceptive, cj. What is your background? Best..........e
like the fact that you use an archaic form in new, unconventional ways, yet extol some traditional values weaving in and out of the expected and unexpected. limericks are the fanciful meter to do just that, whilst seen rarely these days. thanks for the trip.hello dan, i enjoy reading and writing a lot , but i especially enjoy input from other writers and authors. it's like trying to do calculus or algebra, you know and think you can do it, but once others give their input, you know you can do it. thanks for the input . also thanks for providing the enjoyable articles to read. cj
